FIRG Seminar with Fred Stanback

Wednesday, October 25, 2017 - 4:30pm to 6:00pm

We are thrilled to host Fred Stanback, who will be joined in conversation with Tom Lambeth, Director Emeritus of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, and Professor Joel Fleishman. Join faculty, students, and community leaders for a discussion of Funding Conservation in North Carolina.

Mr. Stanback, in partnership with his wife Alice, is one of North Carolina’s leading supporters of conservation initiatives.  Here at Duke, the Stanbacks have made an extraordinary contribution in funding the Nicholas School of the Environment’s Stanback Internship Program. Since the program’s inception in 1996, over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students have benefited.  The Stanback Internship Program has grown into a thriving partnership between Duke and scores of organizations throughout the country.
